What do you wash with - lambs wool wash mitt, microfiber cloth, etc...
I'm curious, what do you use to wash your cars main painted surfaces?
Lambs wool wash mitt, microfiber mitt, microfiber cloth, synthetic wash mitt, terry cloth, sponge, etc. Also, what brand do you prefer?
I recently switched from a synthetic wash mitt(one grand?) to a wool mitt(detailers domain?) because I was afraid the synthetic mitt was not soft enough. The wool mit is very soft but is there a better tool that I could be using to wash my 911?

I've been using a wool mitt for 10 years. Almost time to get a new one. Stick with a higher quality wool and you'll be fine. Oh and don't use it on the wheels, have another mitt available for the wheels and don't mix the rinse water either.

For light (garage queen) levels of dirt, I have had good luck so far with a boars hair brush.
For moderate levels of dirt, I like a large sea sponge.

I use 2 microfiber wash mitts. One for lower half, change water, and the second mitt, with fresh soapy water, to wash the upper portion.
I do want to buy a new wash mitt. Who sells a good wool mitt?

We've been using the natural lambs wool mitts for over 10 years. As long as you rinse after each wash and give them a thorough cleaning in the washing machine every 10 uses, it'll last a long time. Great investment.

I was under the impression that you can't machine wash a genuine wool mitt. How do you do this, gentle cycle, special detergent, etc? Thanks

But seriously, if you get a good one and rinse it thoroughly and store it in a clean/dry place there's no reason to replace. Note that I have only washed the 928 with water twice in my ownership, the mitt is mostly used for my DD which gets washed every couple of weeks during the summer. When temps drop below zero my DD goes to the touchless wash and the 928 is in hibernation.

Yes...gentle cycle using normal detergent. If you also clean your mitt after each washing, by rinsing it out well and making sure there aren't dirt particles or anything that's discolored the mitt, then you could avoid the washing machine.

It's covered in the garage which keeps it dust free.
The 928 also doesn't stay outside for long periods so it never really gets that dirty.

Care - rinse with cool water after each use and allow to air dry inside out. Do not machine wash or dry. Never let it sit in water for a long period of time. Always rinse thoroughly and squeeze out as much water as possible, while making sure not to wring and twist the delicate construction. As it’s hanging to dry, occasionally use my palms to “comb” down the fur so that it doesn’t stiffen as it dries
