Default Is this normal underneath?

Okay, I'm guessing this is normal, because I picked up my CS from the mechanic today, (no more coolant leak), and he didn't say anything.. but when I looked underneath, I saw how this one section looks like it can connect and is lowered slighting. Is this part of the suspension? Sorry for what is probably a very noob question.

It's hard to tell exactly what I'm looking at but my guess is that it's a photo of the front engine protection tray which normally locks into another mid section plastic protection plate (sometimes called a skid plate, splash shield, belly pan). Yours appears to be missing.
