Lightbulb Cayenne 2008 whistling noise

Hello everybody, this is my first post, so please don’t hit too hard

My Cayenne 2008 Base model is producing a whistling sound. It’s quiet for the first 10 minutes. Then the noise is only produced whilst the car is standing. Once accelerating, the noise is gone and all is normal. Also, when lifting the oil measure stick, the noise is gone.

A mechanic told me that the noise is produced by a damaged valve contained in the valve cover and that I would have to change the complete valve cover, not just the gaskets.

I would like to know if this is a plausible explanation and if I should treat this as urgent. Is this valve integrated in the cover and cannot be changed separately? Could not changing the valve cover lead to more severe problems than just the noise?

Thanks for any help. I live in Panama City, Panama and have the car for about 10 month.

Regards Thomas
