Default 2012 Hybrid oil change

I just did the 10k oil change for my 2012 Cayenbe S Hybrid yesterday. It's much easier than I expected.

Materials:

1) Ordered 2 boxes of 0W-40 oil and oil filter from Amazon. The Oil filter on Hybrid model is different from the regualr Cayenne S.
2) Bought a 36 mm oil filter wrench from Autozone.

Steps:

1) Remove the bottom protection boards underneath.
2) There are two oil pans, the front one is for engine oil. The back one is for differential oil. Don't get confused!
3) Unscrewed and let the oil out from the bottom. The oil tank hole is right above a frame, so be prepared, a little messy.
4) Open the top oil cap.
5) The oil filter is on the top of engine now (Thank God, so much easier now). Remove the engine hood from top. The filter is between engine and driver seat. You won't miss it. Use the 36mm wrench to open the filter. Make sure to not to forget to replace two rubber rings.
6) I poured in 8 quarters oil. I first poured in 7 quarters. The oil level indicator was just above the "min". After I added in another quarter, it brought the oil level to the same position before oil change (one stop under max)
7) After changing the oil. I reset the service light by using the cable from Durametric.com. Following their instruction, download the software,.... It's very straightforward.

Enjoy another year ride !!!

Default Oil trouble after change lubricant in V6 hybrid engine

i servicing my Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid always at the same service center in KL, and last oil change the problem with the light blinking started.

After long search ever and everywhere, the problem was the same, til one day we visited the STORM MOTORS at Melaka service/tuning and they found, that the reason was very simple - to much oil in tank...

after pump 0,5 liter, the problem was solved !

Just to add a couple of additional notes:
  • There are 10x 10mm screws that hold the plastic under tray on.
  • The oil drain plug is a 6mm hex
  • A large "Form-a-Funnel" 22in Long x 8 5/8in Wide helps keep the mess to a minimum.
