Default hello from zagreb, croatia. my first porsch , 986 2002.

here is Dario from Zagreb, CRAOTIA

Two days ago I bought my first Porsche.

Unfortunately it is not yet a Carrera : (

it is the Boxster
2002.

Bought with engine damage.

because I'm dealing with grinding cylinder head, drilling engine blocks
and grinding crankshafts
soon he will ride again.

Looks good.

I see lots of tree/plant litter on the car. That gets carried into the body water drains. My advice is before you do anything else check the body water drains to be sure they are free of trash build up. If they get too much trash and it just takes a few leaves they can back up and over flow in rain or even when you just wash the car.

The front body water drains are just ahead of the windshield. Open the front trunk lid and remove the panels on either side of the battery box. You'll need a Torx bit with the security hole to remove the Torx screw that holds each panel.

The drains are under the panels. They are made up of a light plastic basin with a hole to which a hose connects which ensures the water is collected as it runs into the basin and is then carried down and clear of the body. Treat these basins gently.

For the rear body drains you will have to put the top in the service mode which has the clam shell fully open. There is a drain on either side of the top under where the arm of the clam shell fits when the shell is closed.

When you get the drains cleaned by hand remove all the plant trash that has collected in the gaps and seams of the body/chassis parts.

And then in the future try to avoid parking the car under/near trees/plants that shed leaf or bud trash.

Hello Dario, nice to read from you in Zagreb,
Welcome, ..and do not worry one single second, a Boxster has a better architecture than a Carrera.
The only good thing of the Carrera is the two little seats on the back !
If you do not need these two seats, than the Boxster is the best, ..by far !
(Had many 911 during 30 years, and have now a Boxster since 3 years : just a FABULOUS chassis/handling.)

Save your money until you know what the engine condition is. This isn't a simple iron block engine.

Yours will be the first M96 rebuild posted on Rennlist from Croatia !
It will be very interesting to see what damage you found and how you repaired it.
Well done !

I bought another engine from UK

rebuild was not profitable and much too expensive

former owner went with the car on the track and destroy the old engine in a couple of laps

I will publish pictures of the old engine
I will use it for car furniture
