With time it should become second nature, just like breathing you won't even notice you're doing it. Especially with something that shifts as smoothly as a 986!
Keep at it that's a sweet ride!

For me driving my 6 speed S is a great joy. I'm fully engaged and part of the driving experience as opposed to being a passive part of the drive in an automatic.

yup
I keep spilling my coffee while im texting- it was much easier w the PDK
Another question behind the drivers headrest is a black mesh i imagine is a windscreen it isnt present on the passenger side. The clear plastic wind buffer is there though- Am i missing a part?

Oh, yeah. You are missing your passenger rollbar mesh. And wait until you see how much that magical piece of Porsche molded plastic will set you back! Top tip - secure them with some black zip ties around the rollbar. This creates at least somewhat of a deterent to the thing "walking away."

Intermediate
I picked mine up a week ago.
Stalled it once on the 2nd day at a red light on an incline.
Oops. lol
The first day I burnt the clutch a little bit trying to inch into my inclined driveway.
Again, oops.
After a week of driving it, holy wow! Amazing little machine.

got it
Still a bit hesitant on inclines but shifting much smoother now
Fixed my missing passenger windscreen- will be doing a bit of DrColorChip as it appears the prior owner only drove on gravel road behind pick up trucks - must be 50 chips in the front
Now those wimpy looking 17s---- hmm any low profile suggestions?

I like my Boxster's 17" wheels/tires. I have had a Cayman S with 18"s and my Turbo has 18"s and both cars have a much harsh/noisier ride partially due to the larger wheel/tires sizes.

I know that common theory would say that 18s will give a harsher ride then 17s but I didn't feel any difference in ride quality when I changed on my 2000 986.
IMO the rim to tire sidewall ratio is much more pleasing with 18s but that's not necessarily for everyone.
I chose to change out the 17" twists to 18" MY02s and couldn't be happier!
