Need Help with a Headlight Switch Install
Anyone in the Rhode Island/Westport Mass. area who could help install a headlight switch on my 986 boxtser.
I'm new to the area and don't know any Porsche enthusiasts or reputable shops around here.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently without working headlights.

Thanks for the link. But I'm embarrassed to say that I'm without tools
My primary residence is in western, Mass. where the vehicle is usually kept
And to be honest, those who have replaced the switch say its a PIA unless you've done it before.

I was in the same boat in San Fran and ended up finding a HArbor Freight and bought some cheap tools to get me over the hump until I got the car home. Not the best tools but would probably last through this experience. Heck, I had the door card off in the Holiday Inn parking lot replacing the window regulator.

Ha, a likely tale JD......Your avatar gives you away mate!!
I'll let everyone on 986 Forum know you are out of the Ecuador Embassy.
Seriously, the switch replacement is not as difficult as the ignition switch changeout, but perhaps someone on the 986 Forum who lives close to Rhode Island would be willing to help out an old friend. I'd do it for you but Australia is a long way to the US eastern seaboard.....

Mr Danger, sir. I may be able to assist. I've replaced the headlight switch before, have tools and am not too far. Well, a little far, but not too far - I live in Stoneham, Ma. Does this Sunday work?

Oh, happy to hear it. You almost certainly will need lights😉
Not sure about crossing paths. Ive only had my 986 since last Sept. I have been to quite a few PCA events, Cars and Coffees, etc - including the one in Taunton once.
PS: be careful reinstalling the drivers air vent. Its a bit tricky. I scratched my super high quality (not) black Porsche plastic.
