Question Seat Heater not working

The Drivers side seat heater not working on my 1998 Boxster 35k miles. When I push button, the red light comes no but goes off.

Passenger side works fine.

Since it sounds like your switch is working, a possibility is that the relay located under the seat has failed. (The part number is 996 618 521 00.) Try swapping the relay from the passenger seat to the driver's seat. If it works, you know that is the problem. You may also want to try swapping the switches to confirm that the driver's side is OK.

You may need to remove the seats to get to the relay. (I have not tried to remove the relays with the seats installed, but it may be possible.) To remove the seats, first disconnect the battery to avoid an air bag light. Remove the plastic trim from the front of the seat with a phillips screw driver. The bolts holding the seats down are M10 X28 Torx.) You will need an E12 socket wrench insert to remove them. Some people try a 10MM wrench, but that could strip the bolt heads.
