LUK clutch kit contains Sachs clutch
I'm ordering up parts for my upcoming drop-the-tranny exercise.
Clutch kits for the non-S 986/987 Boxster vary all over the map in terms of cost. LUK and Sachs both apparently are vendors to Porsche and supply the bulk of the clutch kits I've seen. I've never been able to get a straight answer to the question of what parts are in the LUK 20-016 clutch kit, but was intrigued by a comment on another forum that the poster had found Sachs parts in his LUK box.
So I ordered a LUK 20-016 kit from RockAuto. With 5% coupon and shipping it was only $299, which is far less than a Sachs clutch in a Sachs box, or a Sachs clutch in a Porsche box.
Kit contained:
- clutch disc
- pressure plate
- release bearing
- pilot bearing
- packet of grease
- alignment tool
For cynics like me I took a photo of the kit as received today.
