Anybody interested in 2.7L engine parts?
I am almost finished dismantling the 2.7L engine, that came to me as a "frozen" short block (so no auxiliaries except for the intake manifold) that suffered from IMS failure.
This is what I have found sofar:
- IMS bearing totally destroyed, most garbage still in oil pan.
- Heads / cams / chains / valve lifters and variocam actuators in good shape.
- Valves all bent, pistons have a visible sign of impact.
- Cylinders all nice and clean. After removing cams, engine turns over without a problem.
What I don't know (yet):
- Mileage on engine
- state of the crank, rods, IMS shaft, thrust bearing etc.
If anything, I consider this tear down as exercise for the rebuild of my 2.5L (I have another spare 2.5L that supposedly suffered from over-revs and has bent valves), and parts that I will not be needing for the 2.5 rebuild I am happy to exchange for parts I DO need for the 2.5.

I might be interested in the heads if cheap enough, maybe some other parts too. PM me and lets talk. Also let me know what else you might need, I have a few parts laying around.
