The LN Engineering website, the people who make one of the more popular IMS kits, says that that car has a dual row IMS bearing and it has a 1% failure rate vs the single row which has a 10% failure rate. If you've got $7900 to gamble a 1% failure rate on and you like the car, go for it. But when the time comes for a new clutch put a new IMS in it.

Looking at the pictures of the car, it appears that the owner took great care of it. I'd recommend offering $5k and mention that the IMS, clutch, other service needs need to be done. That way you're justifying your offer. Some people get mad and emotional when making transactions so be ready for that. You have to be delicate. It's not clear to me how long these engines last. For me, ever since fuel injection came out my engines have lasted longer than the rest of the car.
