Default How to remove the intake manifold on the passenger side

Hi all,

I need to remove the intake manifold on the passenger side of my 99 Boxster in order to replace the air change over valve hidden underneath the manifold.

I got the P0410 code and I believe the air change over valve is the cause.
I noticed the manifold is attached to the engine at the bottom by 6 bolts. I am having problem to reach the bolts especially for the one close to the back seat.

Has anyone tried to do the samething? How do I loosen all the 6 bolts in order to remove the manifold?

Any tip will be appreciated so much.

Thanks.

Steve

I've had to do it a couple times on my 3.4 and the only way I found to get the front bolt was to use a 12pt box end wrench, reach through the access panel benind the seat and go 1/12 of a turn at a time. All the others are pretty straightforward if you have wobble or u-joints and some extensions on your ratchet.

Thanks for the reply. The information is extremely helpful. I will start the task when the famous code P0410 comes back.
I have driven 100 miles since I reset the code and it hasn't come back yet. I am pretty sure it will come back.

Thanks again.

Steve
