Springs are 4-5" mains with the flat hyperco helpers just to keep things stacked. 18x10.5 fronts and 18x11 rears, CCW classics. 295/315 Hoosiers or 265/285 MPSSs. Rear fenders are rolled slightly, fronts are not. Around 3 degrees of camber to make it all fit with just a bit of rubbing on big bumps.

XPC5,

Just wanted to follow up and thank you for all the advice. I went with mid range springs rates, easy enough and not too expensive to go higher, as needed:

Swift Spring 60mm x 5" x 560
Swift Spring 60mm x 6 x 672

Went with Tarret camber plates up front and Stromki in the rear, plus some ERP rear toe links; I got a great deal on the whole set-up, they arrived yesterday!

Hey dJm, How did all that new hardware work out? Are you happy with the spring rates?

Sadly, the hillclimb and trackday season are over here in the PacNW. The coils will go on the car over the holidays, but still won't see real usage until May next year.

I'll update this thread once I've had a chance to drive a few events with the new suspension on.

Cheers,
DJM

Where did you get the re71rs in 285/35/18? I didn't think they came in that size. On TR the widest 18 tire is 275.

P.S. sorry for not contributing in any way to your thread, just curious if this is correct, or maybe a typo, since I would love an re71r 18 285.

My bad, I stand corrected: 275/35/18. I also love a wider 18 re71r.

Thanks for a quick reply. That's what I thought.
Patiently waiting for new 200tw tire announcements for next year...

http://tire.bridgestone.co.jp/potenza/re71r/size.html

The Japanese Bridgestone website lists 295/30R18 and 285/30R18, so hopefully they are coming soon.

I was able to confirm with my tire supplier today that the 285/30-18 is expected here (Canada) by mid-April. I expect the same to be true in the USA. No info on the 295, so I placed my order for the 285. I'll be running 265/35-18 F, 285/30-18 R. I ran 265 square for a couple events last year and found it a bit loose for my taste esp on big sweepers (987.2S).

Saw this and immediately reached out to TR... They are expecting them in end of March - beginning of April. I was able to pre-order. This is for 285/30/18.

What front's are you planning to run with those 285/30s? I am about to order as well, but I am concerned about the increased delta in diameter f/r.

Curious what size wheels you are running and offsets? Any rubbing issues? Presumably you are not having issues with 'ice mode' with the brakes locking due to the tires size differences.

Thanks!

I just have the OZ wheels. 18x8.5 et53 and 18x10 et40. No rubbing issues. there is still about .8 cm in the front on the inside and plenty of room on the outside. RE71s do run pretty narrow. Since they are 265 they are even taller than the 235-255 tires. Car looks a bit funny, but it feels amazing and the grip levels both front and back are worth it. No issues with braking at all.
