You Northern guys are gonna hate this, but: we had our Test & Tune today. Only about 35 drivers. 30s course, skid pad and practice slalom. 54 degrees & sunny. We got huge numbers of runs. We split into 3 groups, one working and 2 running and rotated every half hour.
Well, everyone but me got lots of runs. Something was wrong with my car. 3 other people drove it and didn't really like it. Said it was hard to drive. I had to agree. Times were so-so. New tires and new shocks, old setup without a new alignment or corner balance. I drove home, found one (newly rebuilt Ohlins) rear shock had leaked it's oil down the shaft. Had over an inch of free motion.
So, I changed out the rears to my old Konis, got back just before they wrapped up and set one of the faster times of the day. So, for Blytheville and Dixie I'll be on Ohlins fronts and Koni rears!
Edit: and the new Star Specs felt very good, even when cold. I was right there with an AS Z06 on 295/305 RS3's, supported by 1" wider wheels, compared to my 265/285 Dunlops.

#16271 Options Clarification
At the present time, the SAC feels that the currently available “exclusive” options (such as those which Porsche designates “Porsche Exclusive”) are legal, as delivered through US dealers. Competitors are reminded that the burden of documentation rests with the competitor.

I did some testing today. On my 987.2S, launch control is worth about 0.25 seconds at launch. Half second difference between the fastest settings (LC w/SC+ & PSM off) and the slowest I tried (idle launch w/SC normal & PSM on).

"As delivered through us dealers." So how am I supposed to prove that gt3 buckets (or rear seat delete, for that matter) were available through US dealers? Also, what cars were eligible for the XRR 11" wide wheels? If I was ambitious, I would get the following for the 996: Rear seat delete Gt3 buckets XRR wheels? What else would be doable? Not gonna do PCCBs.
Wait does this make x74 legal?!

Ideally like you said - you're looking at gt3 seats, rear seat delete (not even worth it in my opinion) and gt3 sized wheels (+/- 1" diameter).
The only people I've met who are up in arms aren't in AStreet so I wouldn't worry too much about protesting.
Documentation is kind of a bitch - I've downloaded a bunch of stuff from the internets with option codes (even paid for some stuff) but I'm not sure how convincing any of it will be.
I do have an official factory spec sheet for the 1999 911 and I have an "exclusive" options booklet on order for the 1999 model year - we'll see what turns up. You can find your specific model year Exclusive brochures on eBay.
Obviously a photo of a window sticker would be amazing.

Yeah that would be great. We have that option sheet sticker from under the hood, but it's from that Italian 40AE.
I should scrape together what I can and then just go for it. I would love x74 and leaving the buckets in. I agree the rear seat delete isn't worth the trouble. Wider rear wheels would make the 315 rival S a lot more reasonable.

My notes indicate the national winning 996 GT3 runs 8.5/11 with 255/295.
Don't forget the gearing penalty (or benefit, if you're on a fast course and it keeps you out of 3rd gear) to running a 315.

You also have the RE11 at 245 and 305 X 19. Yes it's last years tire but it has a firmer side wall than the RS3 so a soft sprung 911 form what I under stand the 911 likes the firmer side wall. I'm going to run the RE11's I had last year to finish them off till more sizes come out for the RE71r.
