Are you replacing a defective OEM unit or attempting to retrofit one into a car that didn't come with that option?

Never done a retrofit like that on a 996, not sure it can easily be done. The factory CD Changer is on the fiber optic loop and also has a 6-Pin harness for power and other communications(need a diagram to be sure there). You would likely need both of those factory harnesses and some post-installation coding by the dealer or a Porsche service shop to turn on the options.

No problem, happy to help!
For a simple AUX solution, try these guys out: http://beckerautosound.com/porsche-p...24-aux/2865219 (it's a mono input, but at least it's an input).
Or, if the budget isn't tight, track down a Gateway500 from Dension. It plugs into the fiber optic loop and acts like a CD changer to give you direct full-quality input. It does still require coding the CD Changer option from the dealer though.

I did a search on seicane's website for a porsche cd changer, but nothing came up.
As time goes by, my percieved need for a changer has waned. Maybe I'll get a sport exhaust and listen to that instead!
