Default Need a good source for VLT-HC910LP bulb

Searching around the web, found on Amazon for $140 and Wal-Mart for $300. This give me that gut feeling the one for $140 isn't quite right??

What should I be paying for these & where is a reliable vendor?

I want to get my father in law one for x-mas, found out they don't use the theater I setup for them due to paranoia over bulb costs.

They sound like a fun couple.

That's like not driving the Ferrari for fear of getting a flat tire.

This came about after they bought a 42" for their sitting room. He made a comment over the weekend that the cost of three bulbs he could just buy another 42" TV..........

This was after I spent two days playing Grand Theft Auto on the 100", so he might have been giving me a hint

No idea where to get a great deal on a PJ bulb now, but be careful- some are from China.
If you just put some loose change from your pocket into a jar every day, by the time you need a bulb the money is already there and you never miss it.

Prices vary- some are bare lamp only, some are lamp & housing as an assy.

Shelling out $300 for a bulb isn't the problem, just surprised by the spread. Why spend $300 from place A if I can get the same bulb for half the price someplace else?
Not sure how to insure I'm getting a good one, regardless of price. Simply buying the most expensive unit doesn't always insure it's the best one or a rip-off from China.
