Porsche tech says one side of my AWE headers are cracked and he suggests replacement of both sides first and if that does not work then replace O2 sensor.

Thoughts?

I'd contact awe, they might be able to hook you up with a set, I thought they had a lifetime warranty on some of their stuff.

Any chance of welding or brazing the crack?

I think there could be. I pulled the trigger on a pair of 997tt headers for super cheap that I can use in the meantime while I figure out if I want to take to a muffler shop and have them weld.

Also spoke with AWE and even thought I am not the original owner they have offered to help. Waiting on their options.

Prior owner unfortunately partially flattened the tube closest to the ground by probably going over a speed bump so there is some restriction there but I never noticed a drop in performance. While they are out I'll see if anything can be done with that.

That header took a pretty good hit. There's the crack but also the flattened area. A good welder could hack saw off the flattened section and then heat it up and hammer out the flattened area then weld the piece back on but this will cost you.

Given that much flattening and the crack I'd be severely tempted to bite the bullet and replace the damaged header with a new one.

That's easily fixable, anybody with rudimentary welding skills can easily do that job for you. AWE will help you out, good PR for their co.
