Damn, these cars look good

@estrellajon, you have my car with wheels I was running on my 996T, that looks tremendous.

Talking to Sharkwerks and my local dealer, they both say that doing springs alone could impact the duty-cycle of the shocks since they are always in a compressed state as Johnny DB asks below. Without getting too deep into it, I wondering how GMG would have taken this into consideration . . . I don't ask to challenge your statement, I'm just trying to understand it, I'd love to lower my car, this is the first performance car I'm considering NOT lowering . . . due to any negative impact to PASM. TIA, KH

Really liking my Eibach springs. Looks great, just perfect. H&R looks too slammed for my taste. It lowered the car exactly 20 mm, (111 mm front and 133 mm rear measured at the reference points, stock supposedly is 132 and 153 mm... there is a pic somewhere on rennlist that shows where to measure).

My installer also told me shock life might be a bit down, but doesn't bother me on a car that gets driven approx 5k a year.
Together with the DSC box I like the handling much better... feels more like a sports car.

I'm wondering this as well. What is it that GMG has figured out that somehow won't shorten the life of the shocks that other spring manufacturers haven't? Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting the statement, I too am just curious because I love the look of the GMG drop with spacers. Perfect stance.

When I did my research then, Partnering with Eibach, they design their product to match spring rates with PASM.

FWIW, here's some info

I ordered GMG. I was debating between GMG and Porsche GTS 4 sport springs, but don't know anyone running the Porsche setup and didn't want to be the beta tester. It does appear that Porsche's sport springs, which result in a lower ride height (20mm) retain stock PASM dampers. Don't really see any difference between that and the GMG springs. So, not really too concerned about my stock PASM dampers going early merely b/c of a spring swap. (and if they do, it will be a great excuse to buy some bilstein damptronics or TPC tractive coilovers)

When I did my research on Eibachs, i discoverd, Bilstein makes struts for the Eibachs. They are designed for customers who use lowering springs.

You guys all must live on the Bonneville Salt Flats, and certainly not in Ventura County, CA. I went with GMG springs last year and couldn't keep front lip spoilers on the car. I went back to stock.

HaHa, yeah, my 996T had PSS9s and I had to be REALLY careful everywhere, even my own driveway . . . It was kinda pain, I even had a different route to go home after filling up, since the exit from my local gas station had an IMPOSSIBLE drive. Like I mentioned, I am really considering leaving my ride height stock this time around, I am still careful, but I don't have to be quite so ridiculous with the 997-- I am still in CA, so I am dodging potholes like nobody's business, it's nice to worry LESS about curbs and I can concentrate on other hazards . . . like rocks from trucks, door dings and . . . and . . .

Haven't scraped once in 7 turbo. 7 RS, I scraped on road undulations. Chin spoiler is a wear item anyway.

Edit:: Don't think the 20-25 mm lowering puts me at RS ride height

I've been looking for a set of used GMGs for some time - they are tough to come by!

H&R here. Anyone else with springs have a binding and popping sounds from the front end?

Sounds like your struts weren't put back properly. There is a domed washer that interferes with the assembly if it's facing up. Also will need to be torqued properly
