Default MAF

Hello,

So I got a question for everyone. My car is at my mechanic and it seems that my bank 2 MAF sensor is reading 0. I will attach to a picture to show. I want to replace the MAF with a Bosche MAF insert and not a oem Porsche one. With that said the dealer only sells the the housing and MAF sensor together which is $800. The Bosch MAF housing with sensor is $400. I am have a few places online that sell just the MAF insert. On my MAF sensor I have no wire concerning but on the one I ordered it does. My stock MAF sensor p/n is F00C2G2061. I am just wondering if someone can check a part number of their MAF sensor insert and also post a picture as I bought a non brand MAF sensor and it has the wire connecting the two metal posts. My stock one doesn't have as you can see in the picture I attached.

Top one is non brand that fits my car. Bottom one is oem/stock MAF sensor from my 2007 Porsche 997 turbo. Please post p/n or picture of MAF insert so I compare. Thank you

Did you ever figure this out? Anyone else know the answer? Can the bosch replacement be used?

I never wound up trying it though, I just got new ones with the insert cones. Let us know if you do it.

I have a Bosch one as well. Maybe I will try it at some point over the winter and post back. The part number I purchased (grey market on EBay I think) matched the part in use, but I did not take compare the existing MAF against the one I acquired since cleaning it solved my problem.

I have been down this road before and REFUSED to pay $800 for the PORSCHE plastic tubes with common MAF's installed in them. My first 997 Turbo threw "MAF implausible- battered" codes. I bought two from Rock Auto for around 300 dollars and the car was good to go afterwards.

Fwiw the OEM bosch MAFs with the cones are under $200. These are the ones I ordered.

Default MAF sensor removal-T20/25 security won’t fit

I know this is going to sound crazy: I’m trying to clean my MAF sensors on my ‘08 997TT and have tried four different manufactures security/tamper resistant torx bits (T20 and even T25), not one of them fits the screw heads on the MAF housing clip. If someone can recommend a tool brand that has worked for them, could you please let me know.
