Default New to the Forum: Looking for Advice on a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo with Techart Package

Hello everyone, new to the forum and first time posting! I'm in the middle of deciding whether to purchase a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo and wanted to get the forum's feedback on this specific car. Is it a good purchase, is there anything I should be wary of or look out for and any other general feedback/words of wisdom that would help me make this decision.

I am attaching a link to the initial posting which has now ended but I'm in negotiations of purchase price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272542276009

I went to look at the vehicle today, extremely nice and well taken care of. Low Mileage at 23.4K, I'm not familiar with all of the Techart terminology but trying to get up to speed. I believe it has the full Techart upgrades except for the turbos. I'm not sure how to attach pictures but there's a picture of the dyno chart in the link at the bottom of the other pictures, let me know your thoughts on this and do they look right for a techart modified vehicle. If any of you are familiar with this car, please comment and again look forward to your feedback.

This will be my weekend/summer/track car. My daily driver is a 2014 Audi S6 with full stage 3 modifications running about 680hp and 730tq. It's basically a luxury rocket ship but doesn't do too well in the turns, you can certainly feel the weight.

Its a great looking car and I like the areo kit. My only question concerns that dyno sheet - 675 at the crank and only 500 at the wheels - is that right? I ask not to question the car but for my own education. I didn't know there was generally that much loss between crank and wheel.

Looks great and I hope you've set aside large bills to repair it when it breaks. BTW thanks for posting about your S6, I've been looking for one and was wondering if I should continue.

I thought that was quite a dramatic drivetrain loss calculation as well. I even questioned the guy on this and he claimed there's more drivetrain loss on these porsches. I'm not sure what to believe or if that is accurate. Do the performance curves look appropriate for a techart tuned 911?

I've been trying to do research on this but what kind of typical failures should I expect? I've read these Mezger engines are pretty bulletproof.

The S6 is an awesome vehicle especially if tuned or like mine which is full stage 3. I would have bought the rs7 but don't like the styling so just bought an S6 and converted it into one. It will blow about 99% of everything off the road. Plus carry your family and luggage.

I wish I knew more about these cars - I'm relatively new to the 911 world! My experience is with Corvettes and my memory is that, generally, there was a 15-20% loss depending on whether auto or manual trans. Don't get me wrong - 500hp at the wheels is still a lot of go! Maybe someone with some knowledge will chime in about this pretty soon.

500hp at the wheels is about 565-575 at the crank. Car looks nice. TA is a very well known and trusted tuner/ builder in Germany, all top of the line stuff. This is not a frankenturbo.

thanks! That's 500hp on a dyno dynamics which is typically known as the heartbreak dyno meaning it reads very low. I'm thinking the original tuner who did this did the crank calculations based on normal dyno ratings.

No, these are the only wheels but seem to be in excellent condition.

Wheels are ugly IMO. Airbox also needs to go back to OEM. Other than that, great looking car.

Great looking car. His pricing for the add ons seem a little steep.

I wouldn't worry about the HP to crank calculations. Have a PPI and check for over revs.

I drive an XFR, as a daily driver and the 997tt fits in nicely as 2nd car.

I've been doing research on the coolant line failures. Should I make sure the coolant lines have been replaced before purchasing?

I wouldn't worry about the coolant lines, just get a good ppi.
