Default Info on OEM LED Daytime Running Lights on a 997.2

I cannot find any info on the OEM .2 daytime running lights. Everytime I search, all I get are info on aftermarket turn signal DRL's.

One side of my OEM DRL's is dimmer than the other and I suspect some of the individual LED's have gone out.

From what I understand, it's a cluster of 4 small LED lights inside the foglight housing?

Does the entire unit have to be replaced or is there a way to just replace the bulbs that are out?
Anybody have a part #?

Does the front bumper need to come off to replace the foglight/DRL assembly? ...or can I get to it from underneath?

EDIT: Problem solved...a clip on the harness broke and the dealer fixed it at no charge. Gotta love Porsche service

You will probably have to replace the entire fog light unit. I have never seen any lighting where you could replace individual LED component.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking too but just wanted to clarify. Anyone know the part #?

Not sure if these parts diagrams answer your question (don't know if I highlighted the right item).

When I Google that part number, it's the turn signal / parking light cluster.

But #20 in the diagram looks like it... Thanks!

Added question... Does the front bumper need to come off to replace the DRL (foglight in the .1) assembly? ...bear in mind I'm not just replacing bulbs where you can access from the bottom, I have a .2 so they're LED DRL's and the entire assembly needs to come out.

I would think you will need to remove the front bumper cover for this. I do not see how you could get to some of it without doing so.

I have a DIY with pretty clear instructions on Bumper removal etc...

Here is what it looks like from the inside.

Excellent...thank you! Do the front wheels absolutely have to be removed or can I get away with turning them all the way to one side then the other?

Porsche newbie here with a 997.2 turbo, can someone explain to me the led lights in the bumper and how they work? My foglight are my daytime running lights and there is no switch for the foglights. Confusing to a Bimmer guy. Thanks

I don't think the 997.2 TT has true fog lights. My understanding is that the improvements in the lighting system in the .2 obviated the need for fog lights, according to Porsche. Somebody please correct me if that's incorrect.

So it seems that the foglight are the driving lights and the foglight cannot be activated with headlights low or high beam. Thanks for the replies.
