Some questions come to mind:

1) Did you build that "one piece at a time?"

2) Is your name Sue?

3) Do you think he wore black for people with 911 Turbos?

I agree with the sentiment.

Thanks for all the comments. Makes me feel at home already. For the last 6 years I've been on the RL 993 forum. A good fit since I then owned a 993 N/A. That car has now been sold, and I'm about to fly out to Calif to test drive what may be my next car: an 08 997tt cab with a 6MT. My only other comparison was a test drive at a local dealership of an 07 tt. Such an awesome car compared to my 993. Truly a different kind of car. My 993 was a terrific car and has provided reliable service for the 6 years that I have owned it. In a way, I'll hate to see it leave my garage. But, now the excitement begins.

The 997tt I think I will end up with is fairly low mileage (32k) and is completely stock. I will enjoy the car as delivered; but, will eventually like to do something with the exhaust and suspension. Not sure I need more power, though my tt friends say that increased power is additive!

We'll see. I'm excited. I'll post pictures if I end up with the car.

One question: I am either going to ship the car; but, my preference would be to drive it home to Chicago from LA. What would be the best route to take given that it is still winter?

Usually, I'd drive, but given the unpredictable weather in western ks, I'd prolly ship the car.

earossi,

I picked up a Corvette Grand Sport from Madison, WI in Feb a couple of years ago....it was 17 degrees when we left Madison for Seattle...headed SOUTH as fast as we could safely go, mindful that the Vette was NOT AWD...made it to I-40 down around OK City and the rest of the trip was uneventful..went thru Albuquerque at about 70 degrees..the very next day they had a foot of snow!

I say check the weather, and drive it if you can!!!

L perm is a true fan of the man in black, which i think is the preferred shade for 'sunday morning coming down.'

OP - drive back if you can on the southern route - it would be epic.

Welcome to the turbo forum Ernie! And Holy Porsche look at the ownership history, well done my friend!

As you've already seen, the community is full of great people and companies that support the automotive passion. I would like to add to the consensus that exhaust and tuning is the best bang for the buck performance and driving experience improvement on the 997 Turbo. It is without a doubt transformational, and we personally developed and manufacture several exhaust versions and have a top notch tuner. I'd also like to throw in a recommendation for the DSC module for the suspension software, it is quite the improvement and all my clients love it.
