Default GT2RS style side scoops on regular 997 turbo?

Hello everyone. I just purchased a set of GT2 RS style side scoop and was wondering if anyone else here has installed them. If so dd you just cut away the little blastic support bar in the middle thats behind the factory scoop?

Roger that. Just wanted to know if there was a way to pop it off. I'll just cut it though. Thanks

I'd appreciate some photo updates when you get them installed. Always pondered that project but it doesn't seem like many people have done it.

That's unique. Have to admit I'd never heard of the TTS Edition 918 Spyder.

The TTS Edition 918 Spyder was offered to those special few who had ordered the 918 and were waiting for them to be built. This started the whole VIP program where those 918 buyers got first dibs on all special releases (e.g., GT3, GT3 RS, GT4, 991R, etc. etc.) and most sold them for way above list and thus making more money that then paid on the 918!

I managed to install mine myself and I am totally useless at anything like this.

Pop out the factory intakes.

I used a Junior hacksaw to cut off the centre bit, get as close to the edge as you can with your cut (put masking tape on the paint area around top protect it). I would recommend trial fitting your new intakes and you will see that some of the centre bit will still be visible at the edges, mark up the visible bits then remove the intakes and get the Dremel out to remove those visible bits.

I actually used plastidip in black to finish off the whole intake area so it all looked nice and clean (still looks good today after ~4K miles) then reinstall the new air intakes.
DB Carbon are my supplier - highly recommended.

Here but pricey. I assume MaCarbon or someone similar should have these for much cheaper
