Voltphreaks VPR-P6 Lithium Battery Install
I recently installed a Voltphreaks VPR-P6 Lithium Battery in my 997 turbo using the Rennline Mount. I ran the remote on/off switch to the accessible shroud located below the windshield on the passenger side. This allows you to initialize the battery without accessing the frunk (the Voltphreaks Batteries are equipped with an automatic shutoff in case of low voltage).
Total weight savings is 35 lbs versus my Interstate Battery. Working with Tony at Voltphreaks has been a truly great experience. Amazing customer support!

Nice install. I assume the second pic is a quick connect for a trickle charger? How much did the setup cost you?
I just changed to an interstate. I was originally planning to go lithium or another type of light weight battery. But upon short consideration, i figured a regular lead acid battery is probably the only repair on a 911 (other than wiper blades) where i would not have to pay Porsche tax. So i went cheap for principle... LOL!

The items contributing so far to my "lower weight" are:
PCCB's
Champion RS184 Wheels
FVD Exhaust
Lithium Battery
Rear seats / seat backs removed and replaced with very light kids booster seats
No CD Changer from factory
No Seat Heaters from factory
No manuals
I need to see what it all adds up to reduction wise...

The 2nd pic is actually a remote which allows you to turn the battery on or off. The battery has some built in logic that automatically turns itself off to retain enough power to start the car (for example if you let the car sit for a long period). The reason for the remote switch is that you can not access the frunk easily without power. The set up was definitely much more expensive than a regular battery...about $1150 for everything...but in $/lb not too bad. I think it would be ~45lb drop from the OEM battery.

What are real world experiences on a lithium battery and/or CF hoods? With the lower the center of gravity...would there really be a noticeable difference in handling?
