Default Warped/delaminated Carbon fiber trim

The carbon fiber facing has delaminated/warped from the drink holder cover on my 2011 turbo cab. Any repair options or does the piece have to be replaced?

Mine did the same thing on my 2009tt, It warped and came off the plastic backing. I took 3 spring loaded clamps with the rubber covers on the ends and a tube of E-6000 adhesive and it fixed it up.

The OEM CF is a complete disaster. These dash trim pieces are simple to replace. My recommendation is that you replace with leather, but if you replace with CF, I recommend going OEM again, even though... Luke at Sunset Porsche can fix you up with the best OEM prices for either.

I have a lot of CF in my car, but very very little OEM remaining. Dash trim pieces are just too expensive from the AM guys, even though their quality is better. Just my opinions.

Is the OE really cheaper?

I have to totally disagree. DO NOT BUY OEM CF!
I have replaced some of mine with DB Carbon. Far better quality and they stand behind the longevity of their products. Porsche CF is crap. Poor weave and poor quality. Every piece in my car failed and most was replaced under warranty. And my car NEVER sat in the sun.

Go with DB Carbon. The company is in Germany. Great guys and great customer service

Agreed with phillipj. DB Carbon's CF's are really good quality, if not better than OEM. More reasonable in price as well. If you are still under warranty, then it's ok to use OEM again as there's no out of pocket costs for you. If out of warranty, just go with DB Carbon, IMO.

Who is better? Them or MA? I need a couple trim pieces for my 996tt replaced.

Cheezuz...yes, the OEM dash strips are cheaper than those from MA or DB. It's easy enough for you to check yourself. I have bought them for more than one car. They have held up well, but again, generally the OEM crap is...CRAP.

I almost totally agree with you. The dash strips, BASED ON MULTIPLE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, happen to be the only exception. Otherwise you won't find me buying a single trim CF OEM piece.

Looked at the DB carbon piece I needed. Nearly $200 less than Suncoast Porsche for OEM. Is there much difference in the look compared to OEM?

I don't have CPO, but do have an Easy Care extended warranty. I doubt trim pieces are covered.

I sent you a PM. Everything I have purchased from DB has been a perfect match for OEM.

OEM stuff is crap. Had a piece at the base of the WS on driver side delam 3 times. Second was at my expense. Latest was at their expense and seems to be a better quality.

Maybe they started using Audi or VW vendors. Or DB
