Thumbs up 997.1 Turbo Intercooler upgrade - great alternative to OEM 997.2 / GT2 Intercoolers

We wanted to let you guys know of a great new intercooler upgrade by our friends at do88 for the 997.1 turbos. It is a great alternative to the popular OEM 997.2/GT2 intercoolers as the end tanks are cast and backed by proper CFD analysis. There is no chance of end tanks popping off or breaking under higher boost as it can be the case with the OEM 997.1/997.2 units.

The intercooler kit comes with all associated hardware required and will bolt up without any adjustments/trimming/cutting of the OEM intercooler ducting. They also come with much better silicone piping included.

To get the most out of the upgrade a set of turbo intake hoses can also be bundled with them for a really great well rounded intake/intercooler upgrade that far surpasses what the OEM hardware especially at higher boost levels.

Here are some pictures of the kit and some flow and IAT numbers that do88 has gathered comparing them to the OEM 997.1 intercoolers.

Price/performance metrics on this kit especially when bundled with the turbo inlet pipes are really hard to beat out there that is for sure.

Let us know if any questions at all. earl3, you might like this

Would be great to see IATs against a 997 instead of a 996.

OEM 996 GT2/X50 intercooler cores are the same as the 997.1 cores. IAT numbers shown will mirror the 997.1 cores. The difference between the 996 GT2/X50 and 997.1 intercoolers is just in the end tanks where the 997.1 have less pressure drop and that's why the pressure drop graph shows data against the OEM 997.1 pressure drop data.

If anyone's interested in trying them and sharing their experience with install in terms of fitment and performance after install especially with IAT data feel free to ping us for sure.

Quadcammer, PM me if you'd like to give these a shot.

Funny you mention markup on these. I can tell you that these intercoolers are definitely not making anyone selling them rich. They're very aggressively priced already for the quality they provide especially when compared to most other options out there.

I guess that depends on the duty and shipping cost.

Are you drop shipping from D088?

Have just ordered a set of these direct from DO88 - will be fitting mid November and will report back results end of November.

Price is right, but I'd like to see how they compare to the oem 997.2 units, which are tough to beat.

Kit arrived and fitted.
Very impressed with the quality and service from Do88.
Intercoolers are very well made - hoses fit perfectly.

I don't have a dyno to check things but have attached a couple of durametric logs from stock, and after fitting.

IAT is much cooler than original and the MAF airflow numbers are also up - vehicle speed is also up for the same / similar engine speeds.
This was done on two drives along the same stretch of road, trying to duplicate conditions.

Car feels livelier too but that may be subjective - at the end of the day the kit seems to do what it says on the tin and I am a happy camper.

@heliflyer excellent feedback, thank you. I'm not sure on the pdf attached as its only showing 3k rpm range and not a full WOT pull. Were these the temps after a run was done at cruise?

yes - weather here has been rubbish last couple of days and the local roads are a touch on the slippery side for WOT pulls!! also the local gendarmes here are somewhat keen - however The mid range results were enough to convince me that it was a worthwhile purchase!!
If we get some decent weather in the next week or so I will try and get some WOT data.
