Enjoy ! Great you followed the advice of the few and ignored the rest
In the end, I like 996 turbos. I don't love the front end, but in black it's much less noticeable to my eye.

This car was $148k new, with 25k miles on it. 6spd, Basalt over black with hardtop, power sports seats, full leather (all dash parts, seat backs, vents, speaker covers etc in leather), CF shifter, brake, door pockets and pulls, and cf door sills.

It also has red deviated stitching, red gauges, and belts, so it's decked out. It needs a few things, like they all do, but nothing I can't sort out.

For now it has a Softronic tune that I will replace with a UMW one, and a funky rear wing that I will put back to stock. I just drove it home from CT and it ran well and got 24 mpg at 75-80 mph. I think I will leave the stock suspension for now, it seems adequate for highway use, at least for the time being.

All in all, not too bad!

Nicely optioned, that's some serious option coin for that model year, sounds like a great car. Notwithstanding a dicey looking stock market, I think you caught the bottom for the 996 Turbo. Enjoy

Congratulations! Guessing an '03?
As I've said in earlier posts I had my '01TT for 6 years and it was the best car I've owned. I still own the '03GT2 (after a short hiatus)and love these cars.
