Talking Ahoy Gents! First post / build share!

I wanted to take the time introduce myself and share the build being done by the good folks over at EVOMS. They (mostly Sam Stone) have put up with a positively obnoxious need of mine for the past 3 months: I must know every possible part available and every variable that could happen. Most of my "if this, then what??" "ok so that, what about this???" happened at annoying off the clock times as I have been overseas for the duration of the build. Sam and the other EVO guys have provided great, in depth, and patient support through all of this. They listened to what my goals were and never tried to push me to buy more and even talked me out of some things. That said, I sure gave myself enough rope!

I've had my 997.1 for 4 years now and love it. I've had a solid stable of cars over the years and have considered the 991tt or something more exotic but this is where my heart is.

I've always been a bit nervous about modifying the engine to load on more power. I've built 8 of cars in the past and its been a hit or miss experience and always a costly one. I've also known people who have had poor luck, accidents/injuries or a car that is a maintenance disaster. After doing careful research and lurking the forums for a long time I decided to pull the trigger and go all in. I will post pics as I get them. The build is reaching the end with a target completion date of July 20th.

The goal:

Make a high power, streetable, track ready beast by means of the EVT775 kit, boosting displacement from 3.6L to a 3.8L, upgrading brakes front/rear, and a complete suspension overhaul. We hope to make closer to 800hp with the added displacement and we hope to keep it on the pavement!

Her name Gretchen and she sits on black 19'' Victor Equipment Innsbrucks with Michelin Sport Cup II's.

I can't wait to see how it comes together over the next few weeks and what numbers she puts down on the dyno/around a track.

I'll do my best to keep you guys in the loop with info/pics as it happens and will do my best to answer any questions!

Yes they did! I would use them again... The guys at EVO thought it was factory until they ran the VIN.

Have them pin the cams while they have it apart! It's an inevitable failure IMO.

They're doing that. I'm trying to give myself as much "insurance" as possible. What is the repair cost on the cam failure? something like 8-10k all said and done?

With everything you're doing to your car, you might want to invest in a g suit from a fighter pilot lol. Can't wait to see the finished product!
