It is torque which bends the rods and specifically extended use of the torque in the higher gears. The bigger VTGs can produce around 840NM from 2-3000rpm and if this is ridden under load in 5th and 6th gears extensively on the Autobahn rods will bend.
For low load usage it seems a bit of a lottery and one guy's idea of "hard use" may in fact be low load use.

You also have the whp factor with these 8 second dyno runs which don't mean an awful lot especially in terms of real torque measurement. If your 997tt can do 0-186mph in 26s (or for easier measurement 124-186mph in ~16s) then it has real flywheel 650PS and probably the 840NM, this is the maximum for rod safety under conditions described above.

"Sort of" doesn't mean fixed. You didn't ask the important question to Tom...."what is the limitation to the PDK equipped 997.2 Turbo right now, the High Pressure fuel system or the PDK"

They entire industry has been working this issue for 3-4 years. They have figured out a solution for upgraded PDK clutches and cutting the trans open to beef it up...they have been "close" to a fuel system solution for years but never produced anything.

So you are still completely wrong....
