That's disappointing on so many levels. Get it fixed soon and enjoy that beautiful ride.

That is terrible to see, and probably all of our nightmare scenario when in a parking lot. As others have said, it could have been worse, so when it's fixed keep on enjoying your car!

That sucks! Get it fixed then try and forget it. Don't want to be worrying so much about stuff like this that it stops you enjoying the car!

no hijack here, but people do suck. I was driving home last night, normal speed, and a dude driving a ten year old minivan comes out of nowhere and rides my *** for about 5 miles. Douchery.

Has no effect on performance or handling. Once it's repaired you'll forget quickly. Go enjoy it.

Should be an easy fix. Sucks though. People suck.

Those bumpers are designed to do just that, crumple and protect the frame, easily repairable or replaceable. I had similar damage on my first 997 when a city bus hit me, just replaced the bumper, no big deal. Your 930 would have suffered more damage and been nearly irreplaceable.

Wow! That really sucks. What I find most annoying is you have a nice car, you take care of it and park it way the hell out there as not to get dinged. Then inexplicably, some idiot parks right next to you when there are a thousand of other spaces. I don't get it.

in this case I don't think the idiot parked next to my car, they just drove into it.

Got a quote for repair today...approximately 3k (mostly the cost of new bumper cover). I have to decide if I file a claim for this with my insurance co. I'd do in a heartbeat except my wife mashed the door on my truck earlier this year and we filed a claim for that. I've had over 20 years since I filed a claim (last time I was in high school), now two in one year.

This really blows. I would get a claim into the insurance. It was not your fault. This is what insurance is for.

Someting to consider - when you file an insurance claim it most likely will generate a Carfax accident report (regardless of the circumstances) that may/will lower the value of your TT and could prevent a future buyer from considering it. Just a thought-

Already filed a claim. While I understand that the Carfax may reflect this, I have documentation of what happened. I just bought this car, and I plan to use it and put miles on it. Resale is the least of my concerns at this point, but in the event I'm selling someday and someone wouldn't consider this car because of this incident, that's frankly a buyer that I'd rather not deal with anyway.

Just one of the multiple reasons I sold my 930 and stepped into the 997 is to get away from the "value" consciousness that permeates that landscape. I expect a little relief from that over here. Its a car to me, not an investment.

Meanwhile, I've spent 10s of thousands of dollars over the years on auto insurance with little to no claims activity. This wasn't my fault...I wasn't even operating the vehicle when the damage occurred.
