Shopping 997.1 turbo cabs
closely eyeballing a couple right now. Any recent actual purchases out there that I can use as market data for pricing help? If you're willing to share, I appreciate it.

It's hard to provide market rate as in my mind some cars are special and others are plane Jane
I personally would look for a 2009 with sport seats. Any further options are perks
Are you after a manual or would you go with a 2010 onwards Pdk?
I am not bashing the 07-08 models all great cars although if you are picking the cream of the crop you might as well be patient and get the most desirable

I'll share. I looked for 2.5 years for my car. 2009 Cab turbo 6MT - black on black with Chrono. 22,xxx KMS. I wanted the sport seats but have not found and originally a coupe was on my list. I paid $100K CAD. CPO car - they completely serviced it for me before delivery. New tires all around, spark plugs, new fuel filter, new brakes and pads, new belts, 3M clear front wrap, all new fluids.

They were an option. I've got Adaptive Sport Seats in my 2008 TT cabriolet. I also have PCCBs, which I really like. The thicker, sport steering wheel is a nice option too, as is the OE short throw shifter.

I just purchased my 2008 Turbo Cabriolet from the Ruf Auto Center a month ago for $72,000. It has Factory optioned adaptive sport seats with carbon fiber backs, manual trans, and LSD. 28,200 miles.
The car is very heavily optioned and in excellent condition. It wasn't perfect. There were some rock chips poorly touched up with a toothpick a TU paint, but the interior and top are like new.
I looked for a couple months. Most very good examples of cabs with good maintenance records I looked at were between $68K and $75K, with the dealer cars at the $75 end.

Thanks for the replies. Good data points. I am only looking at manual transmissions.
There is an '09 6MT at a dealer. 22k miles, Sport Chrono, Multifunction Wheel, but standard seats. listed at 89.9. They did a full 30k service on it. Sales guy offered it for 86-87 with CPO. Still seems strong to me.

re: '09 as "the best" vs. '08 - other than the last year of Metzger cachet and PCM 3.0, what else. I don't know if either of those things is worth 10k to me.

Besides these two things and the PCM unit as noted, they are virtually identical.

"Best" is arguable for sure, but smallest number is a fact. It reminds me of the 1997 993tt guys looking down their noses at 1996 993tt guys because of the numbers. In the end, a good car of either year has super strong pricing.

Case in point: I'm selling a 1979 930 in order to get into a water-cooled turbo cab, so arguably selling an appreciating asset for one that's still depreciating.
