Default Can a Dealer Install Aftermarket Parts?

I've known my dealer wrench for 20+ years, he's an enthusiast and a friend, and he's one of the best in the biz, and he's the only guy who has worked on my p-cars and I'd like to keep it that way. A couple years ago I got OEM Rennsport motor mounts from Carnewal, but they were a 993 part with mounting bolts for my 09 TT. Service advisor said they couldn't install them, though my wrench did it anyway on the side.

I've been waiting for an engine drop to do a few things and may have a warranty repair that would require dropping the engine. I'm thinking of putting a Sachs stage 2.5 clutch in at the time (clutch is starting to get a bit weak with too much stop and go driving), as well as the Sharkwerks stainless steel coolant pipes, and plugs (30K miles now).

I haven't called my dealer yet, but wondering what your experiences are with dealers and these issues? (I am close to senior management and can always ask them to take care of me, but just wondering if this is a common Porsche dealer policy.)

My dealers in Denver, Dallas and Austin have never balked at installing aftermarket parts. It's just incremental service revenue for them.

Some will, some will refuse to install any part that wasn't purchased from them. My experience has been that if your friendly with the service dept you will get more favors done.

Yeah, no problems here with that at all. After putting in my Sharkwerks coolant pipes, my dealer recommends them to everyone.

Most Porsche dealerships won't be interested, but, as others have said, if you know people there already, that can make all the difference

All my mods are installed at the dealership, often I have them send it directly to the shop.

I think it comes down to whether or not your dealer has previously been caught with their pants down? And had to cover a large warranty item that PAG declined. Once that happens the service advisors are removed from the decision making process, if they weren't already.

Most dealers will install non OEM parts but I have heard of a few places that will not.
