Default Exhaust Tips

I just pulled the trigger on an EP1 exhaust from Stef. Now I'm thinking of replacing the tips as well.

Does anyone have some pictures of the various options out there?

Thanks in advance!!

Congrats on the new EP!

Here is a link to a recent thread on exhaust tips.

Thanks for the link, but that thread focuses almost exclusively on the Fab Speed tips. I'm leaning against those due to the discoloration problems I've read about.

I'd like to see other options. I'm looking for Chrome, not black.

Chris,

Can the tips be exchanged with the exhaust already on (without removing the bumper)?

Talk to Stef about tips - he has some definite opinions on OEM v. quads on his systems.

I had fs quad tips and stock tips on his ep1 and never noticed any significant change in tone, fitment or anything else.
What is he referring to? Because I may be getting another ep system for the new car and was deciding on tips/no tips.

You can ask him via email. I have had 2 EP2's on 2 different 997.1's - best mod I ever did to these cars. When I was going through my purchase due diligence I asked Stef why he used OEM tips and he said (IIRC) that he did not like the sound coming out of the quads - he characterized it as a "farting" sound. This was 6 years ago so maybe his thoughts have changed or maybe this was just a characteristic of the EP2.

Could be, I only ever had the ep1. I really never noticed anything significant. I'll probably email him and just buy a ep1 and leave the stock tips.

Liking my Techarts I bought from Carnewal. No farting. Installed in about 5 minutes per side.

TA's are nice, I always forget about them, Suncoast had them on sale 50% off recently too.
The thing about the fs is they seem to discolor and look carroded easily. Having a black turbo is labor intensive enough without the tips piling on.

On my second black 997.1 TT with EP2 I had Stef ceramic coat the tips in black. EP2 has bigger outlet so only tips that fit are the ones he modifies.
