Interesting view inside a turbo. It's easy to see why heat soak can build up so quickly.

wait, this looks all kinds of odd.

That looks like the cold side of the turbo and on top of that there should not be that much fuel still burning in the exhaust.

This looks like a neat photoshop.

Good point, actually it's CGI from the Formula 1 rules description. The video actually gives a better idea. Skip to the 2:00 mark in the video to see where the pic came from.

interesting. Kind of strange turbo layout but I guess it works for their purpose and packaging.

Good IC's are need to remove some of the heat from the incoming charge, the heat arising from the incoming charge being compressed by the turbo compressor wheel.

What the pictures shows is the need for a very good exhaust turbine metallurgy and turbo cooling and lubrication.

ha...there goes an hour of my life. Cool video. MGU-H is pretty neat little trick...and given the push in mainstream cars to go turbo in the name of fuel efficiency I wonder how long before this technology trickles down.
