GT3 Front Drop Links?
My installer has mentioned the possibility of using GT3 drop links to attach my new GMG sways. I can't find much good information on those links, but from what I've gathered, they attach to the shock via a cuff around the body. Tarret, for example, makes a "GT3 Style" front drop link of this type.
I'm wondering:
1) Would this type of link be advisable, given the extra weight of the Turbo?
2) Would it put more stress and wear on the coilovers I'm installing?
I've read a few posts in GT3 forums about these front links failing, and one theory seems to be that they are designed to be the weakest link in the chain of suspension components to protect other more costly parts from over stress, given the likely track use of a GT3. If this is the case, then won't my extra 500lbs be causing a bit of over stress from the beginning?
Thanks,
Louis
