From what I've noticed, the tone only changes at idle due to it running in ever so slightly higher RPM in Sport mode.

Its very slight, a few yrs ago somebody measured it with a dcb over on 6 speed, it was only a 3-4 dcb difference.

It's been pretty cold here in KC. I met some friends the other night, & the car sat out in 8-10°F weather for about 3 hours. I put it in sport mode shortly after the cold start because I had thought I noticed a change in tone. It was a very distinct difference.
I haven't really noticed it as much since. I'm guessing the extreme cold had something to do with it.

A little update about 500 miles into my new EP2... I do notice drone when I'm in the 2300-2600 rpm range. It goes away instantly if you get to a decline or let off the accelerator for traffic. It's not very noticeable under those rpms or over. But I still think I'd be disappointed if it were any quieter.
I love this exhaust!
The tone is perfect!
Sometimes I'm not sure I wouldn't like it a little louder, but I drive the car almost daily so I'm sure it might get old if it were.

I'm up north near the airport in Parkville. It's about 35 minutes straight north on the west side of I-435 from where you lived.
I just noticed your sig-line... Go Chiefs is right!

Love exhaust threads, they're my favorite.

I rarely post but read the forums regularly.
I actually have two 997 Turbos, one is a 07 Tip daily driver, another is an 09 6-speed weekender/collection car.
After reading most exhaust threads the past 2 years, I'm leaning towards a EP1 for my Tip and an EP2 for my 6speed. Sometimes I feel I should get a Kline Inconnel due to recent good reviews and to have some variety, but concerned about potential CELs or quality issues since the company is relatively newer. I do love the crackles and pops on breaking with EP's so leaning towards them. I am also hoping for a discount if I buy both at the same time from the same company.
Any thoughts on what some other posters would do in my situation?
Also, for my California friends, any exhausts I should avoid or go with so I don't have to take off exhausts when Smog check come up?
Thanks in advance.

Almost 50K on my EP 1.

The 1 is the choice for Tip recommended by Europipe.

I love the reduction in turbo lag. And the cold start. And with this exhaust, unlike the 993, wife does not opine "Sounds like a race car."

And no drone at any rpm. And never a cell.

Thinking of partnering up with a good friend to buy this GT2. Thanks in advance.

I had a Kline on my 996tt. It is kind of hard to compare it to the EP2 on my 997tt because they are different cars, however, I would say this:

The Kline was quieter at normal driving and louder at wide open throttle. It had a great sound, but my taste is leans more toward the sound of the EP2,
I did have an issue with CEL on the Kline and had to add O2 extenders, but then I sold the car shortly after, so I don't know if that completely fixed the issue or not... I think it probably did.
The EP2 sounds fantastic all the way around. It does crackle a little bit, but not quite as much as I'd like. It sounds great in normal driving, but does have a bit of drone... it doesn't bother me.
I wish it were louder most of the time, but I've only put 5-600 miles on the car since I had it installed. The installer echoed what others have said about the fit and finish and quality of the Europipe.
All in all, I'm happy with the EP2, and I'm sure that when I decide I'm ready for a different P car, I'll probably install another one. However, I have to say that when factoring in the lower cost of the Kline, I was not disappointed with it either.

i've '07 TT tip also -put EP1 on it few yrs ago based on stef's recommendation- drove a friends '07 6sp that had EP2 on it- like the EP2 on 6sp but it did have a bit of drone around 2200-2600 rpms or so which was easy to control with the 6 sp by shifting- With the tip i'm glad i got the EP1 & listened to Stef- as the tip gears are widely spaced and sometimes is harder to get it out of drone range - I've had absolutely no issues with EP1- very nice sound & build.
I do what you suggested as EP2 for the 09 6sp & EP1 for tip- good luck

Take the EP2 to allow for the upsized 76mm piping. You need the larger diameter for the turbos to flow after a tune

Does anyone have any experience with the EP2 with upgraded stock turbos or with a bigger turbo kit like the protomotive? I'm wondering if the exhaust can support 800+ AWHP.

You might ask Stef also - he's great source of info about his products and he's responsive to emails.
