IMO the manuals will be good in the future. I watch Pistonheads a bit and notice they have gone up in 12 months (man). Not only that, there aren't that many to choose from either.
But even at the current asking prices they are a lot of car.

If I wanted an investment I would have bought a property.

Okay, bit it's now been seven years since that was written, not two...

Point being, it's not impossible to find a 6sp in the mid 60's, and mine only had 49k miles. Yes, that is high compared to a lot of these cars, but I don't by any means consider 49k miles to be "high mileage".
49k isn't high at all. I think you got a good deal because it had a few mods, if it was closer to stock that's a 70k plus car all day. You did good!

I remember shopping for 993 turbos back in '06-7 and most were in the high 70s, ten yrs old at the time. Pretty good correlation so far. I don't think 997.1s will hit the stratosphere like the 993s, but they'll do ok.

57K miles here so far, that's 5700/year! Since last March, I put in 872 miles which was after I removed engine. I probably will go out on a limb here but I have not lost any money on any of my last two Porsche vehicles sold. The 97 S and 93 RSA. I don't think the 997TT will be sold, I am done

I paid $58k for a 50k mile 08 6 speed. While a bit rough on the inside and a bit of paintwork, the car has been rock solid for the 12k miles i've put on it (just an 02 sensor and a radiator). I would expect to get about the same for it at this point.

You guys better stop all the pricing thread and how good 997TT manual really is because it make me depress thinking about selling my 997TT. All joke aside, I don't see 997TT manual prices will ever going south from this point on unless it has 100k miles and poor condition inside out. This car is future classic and it only appreciate in the future, I bought my car 3 years ago in the mid $70s, I've had multiple offers in the $80s with higher mileage and a few years of trouble free enjoyment. Hang on to your Turbo guys, 997 has the timeless design, interior just enough for comfort creature while retaining that analog thrill of driving. May be 10 years from now, we will revisit this thread again and laugh at our comments.

Tomorrow i'll hit 40k, paid $75k almost 3 years ago at 20k miles. The car is in great shape, can't imagine it being a mid-$60k car at this point. I think there will always be a seller that just wants to get rid of the car and doesn't have an issue with taking a financial hit, but there will always be a buyer who wants a specific car in color/condition and will pay more for it to get what they want. That was me 3 years ago.

Lucky enough to get my '07 TT, 6-speed, chipped w/TUBIs in 2015 for $60k with 42k miles. Installed new tires last year and will need new rear rotors soon. I think the big hype with Metzger engine are keeping TTs especially 6-spds north of 60K if mileage below 50s.

Nice looking car. Sounds like you did pretty well on that one to start with. But then, I'm a weirdo who thinks a good exhaust/chiptune makes TTs a little more desirable since that's a solid $4-5k in must-do mods I won't have to spend.

Thanks.

I have to thank the guy that haggled the seller an extra 1k because it did seem fishy why it was so cheap. Butt after a PPA and finding out why he was selling so fast, it all made sense. It was originally custom-ordered and resold with 3k miles when he bought it and had it tuned. This is exactly the way the car looked 2 days after I bought it, untouched. I could have turned around and resold this car for at least $8k profit had I wanted but absolutely no buyer's remorse. I continue to look today just out of curiousity and still cannot find anything for $60k.

You did good, way under the market. That's a 65/68k car all day long.
