To tint or not??

To tint or not??
I have always tinted the back 3 windows of every car I have owned. However the used 07 turbo I just purchased does not have tinted windows. There is a kinda clean look to my artic silver tt with out being tinted. My question to many of you forum members is does the car look much better with the 3 back windows tinted(I live in CA. so the only allow back windows to be tinted)? Do many of you leave the windows untinted. With out offending any age gender it always seemed to me that the "older" porsche driver left his windows untinted.Bottom line is I would like opinions on which looks better. Thanks!

I would go with a 50%VLT tint on even the doors if you are worried about the police, and still want a nice tint. Light tints these days are much more advanced and reject more heat/uv without having to go black.
Here's and example of a lighter tint on a silver 997, around 35% I believe.

I know its not a p-car, but my mother had her LS430 done with 50% tint, it seriously cuts down on heat. Originally it was done with 15% but the fuzz around here didnt like it. Never been bothered with the 50% since.

I think in CA you could get away with 35% all around. My cars are 50% on all the side windows (front/back), and then 35% on the back glass (VA law). When I lived in CA, I had 20% all around and never got hassled.

Light tint all the way around or nothing at all..I personally like the light tint all the way around look. WORST thing you can do is tint only the back three windows...kind of like being half-pregnant

I wasn't speaking from the "letter of the law" sense. I know what CA's laws are. What I'm saying is that 99% of CA law enforcement is not going to ding you for 35% tint unless you were doing something else. Like I said, I drove around for years with 20% (on an Evo no less!) and never had an issue.
In VA, they are much stricter, so I am sticking to their laws of 50% on the fronts, 35% on the rear.
