Default oil change - filter design >>

I bought the Mahle oil filter on pelican parts. I don't know if this has been gone over before, but the fitment is less than ideal.

Put the car up and drained the oil...

...opened the oil filter box, to discover the sizing is a bit off. I jammed the filter on after a quick email between pelican parts service stating that it's the correct filter. It seems to fit OK, but I think I'll be going back to OEM.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it a non-issue?

Yeah, I had that too this past fall when I did my pre-storage oil change. Just have to push it on there (it's very tight as you note). No big deal really. I think by design they are just trying to ensure a tight fit / grip on the inlet pipe.

I've used the Mahle and Mann filters. Noticed it was a tight fit but don't think it's an issue. Every time I discard the old filter I take a look to see if there's any decomposing pieces, all good so far. Feels crazy to change the oil every year, when average mileage intervals aren't hitting 3000/5000-but I'm told yearly is a must(?)
So it's good to stock up on the 5W-50 @$5.79/qt when it's available

that is how all the filters i buy look initially until they are pushed onto the engine & into the filter hoursing. I also put some oil in the housingl b 4 installing all back together . After all oil is in engine & ready to start i read that it's good to take out the 2 fuel pump fuses & crank it over for short time before actually starting. i do this also.

Checked to see if the 5W-50 was still available, and it is until the 31st(at least in South Fl)
$5.79/qt, I'll probably stock up again-here's the link:
