Damage

The scoop size themselves don't look bigger than the regular scoops to me. Am I missing something?

Size is similar as you pointed out. I am not an aero engineer, but it is a little bit taller and I think the improvement is also from the back area being filled-in to eliminate turbulence. Porsche Motorsport engineers designed this part for the factory race cars and successfully used in 24-hour racing, I'm no position to contest the functionality.
