A basic but correctly done 4.0 build on a 07 RS will take a stock 991 gt3. I can post up a dyno sheet of one with 100hrs on it vs a fresh 991 gt3. Will dig it up this morning.

My 4.0 made 459 to the wheels on a dynojet.. That is more then a 991 GT3 but the PDK makes up for alot in straight line accel. If you are just talking speed or lap time.. A 991 GT3 is faster or the same with alot less work in the **** pit..

If you are talking driving experience and pleasure.. A hotrod 997 GT3 is hands down the better of the 2..

Alot of guys ask me what Porsche to get.. If you want a great 911 with "modern" performance and 911 feel.. I tell them to buy a 997.1 GT3 and build it.

What Mr. King stated.

Here's dynojet results to the wheels of my 4.2 build in the first phase of the build. Put down 485 rwhp and 368 rwtq. Look at the torque curve and at low RPM's how it comes on.

Yes sir, that was with phase 2 of the build.
Original build was with stock 3.6 intake manifold, stock cams and original (pre build) M&M exhaust.
Phase 2 incorporated the 4.0 manifold and injectors, new cams, additional machining port matching with manifold and exhaust ports to match larger primaries of new M&M headers and Grand AM exhaust. Air intake design change and new air intake ducts on the decklid. There may have been a couple other components but it's all a fog.

My buyer got a k!ller motor, car and price

I've pulled on a 991 GT3 on the freeway many times with mine. Also ran dead even with a 991TT from a dig through 3rd gear. The car is really fast, and very responsive. Car put down 494whp on a Mainline which reads similar to DJ.

I call BS on the amateur driving status PJ. If you're an amateur that makes me a rank novice driver...

Didn't you already punch that sucker out once to a 4.0?

Dude you are a pro racer :-)

Yes - it has been a 4 liter for a few years
I did not go all the way to 4.2 during that build because the budget did not allow for crank, rods and oil pump needed

At the time the oem 4.0 crank was around $9k plus rods plus oil pump - it meant an additional $15k...

Then I get a call last year - oem 4.0 crank pricing dipped significantly and I should put it on my shelf for later... so I did and now is later

My 4.0 had 100+ hours on it and would likely have gone another season but I had the damn parts on the shelf :-) and a buyer for my 3.6 crank, rods and oil pump - aka planets aligned

So off we go

new lumpier cams just came in this week :-)

Going to be very nice! What was the rwhp of the 4.0?
