Default 997gt3 seats in BMW M4

Just watched the last episode of The grand tour and was surprised to see a 997.2rs seat mounted in the M4 driven by Michelins test driver at their facility in France.
Says a lot about the quality and feel of that seat if they go thru the hassle to mount it in a M4

Noticed the same thing immediately. I saw the trim in the headrest.

Maybe the driver's favorite seat?

I'm one of the few I think that prefers a Recaro bucket over the OEM GT2 or the newer 991 Carbon Buckets. Much better feel with the Recaro.

GT2 bucket seats have TONS of cushion for the pushing. To the point that my wife loves them.
They're far more comfortable then my sofa at home.

Totally not track worthy if you keep the cushion on- it's a must to remove cushion if you track.
Or else you can't feel squat in the butt.

+1 Recaro has better cushion, comfort and support than any of the OEM Porsche CF buckets IMO. That said stock M3/M4 seats suck for track driving and Porsche buckets are way better. Not sure why they didn't just put an aftermarket seat or M performance seat in the M4.

The seat is a euro RS/CGT style, not the standard .2RS seat.

This style was in the M4

Not the standard RS bucket

I find the lightweight buckets as shown in the M4 supremely comfortable. Had them fitted to my last 997.1 GT3 and optioned in my 997.2 GT3 too.
Seats are such a personal thing though so not surprised some people prefer the folding bucket which is still a great seat. Both types connect you so much more to the action that I think they're a must have option

I prefer the 996 GT3 bucket to the 997 GT3 folding bucket. The 996 seat fits my narrow hips better.
