A year and a half ago, I sold my '03 base Carrera and got a 4500 mile 2011 GT3RS. I go to the track and my girl "Anastasia" has more track days and time than street. I just cant actually imagine her as a street only car. Truth be told, she'd be unhappy and almost a sin that a car with that capability never gets to "express herself" in a way that she was designed.
BUT, its all what you want. I have a client that I'm friends with that just wants to cruise around town in is 2015 Turbo S. While I dont understand that, he's happy and honestly, thats all that really matters.
So - if you are thinking down the path of track at times and belts and moderate upgrades for safety, I can ASSURE YOU that you will have a respect for your girl in a way that you cant possibly fathom, and appreciate every moment with her on the street that much more.
You want a garage queen, then you cant really have both.
One last antidote - after I bought my car and 2 track days and still less than 5000 miles, an identical RS sold at auction at a 40% premium. I was thinking to not track because the value had risen so much. My 18 year old son said to me that I dont get to go get coffee on Saturdays. I got to drive it and that I and the car were happiest when I did. That's the day that I stopped thinking about the value of the car that someone else places on, and rather the value we have in our "relationship". I'll never sell this car. Ever. I think about her every day. I know her deepest secrets and she knows mine. She makes me excited thinking about her even sitting in the garage and is just a monster on track. For ME, I wouldn't think of NOT tracking her. Its an amazing life we have together....
Regardless of what you choose, love and enjoy your car. I sincerely hope you have the experience I have either way.

In my opinion, I wouldn't do it. To me it looks silly, and "wanna be" like. Just as silly as lifted monster trucks with mud tires, that never leave the So Cal side streets and freeways.
