Default Hoosier question..

Looking to try a set of Hoosiers. Have any of you guys compared the R7 to the Slicks? I run 10" fronts and 13" rears and looks like my choices are as follows:

R7:
255/35-18 (these seem to actually measure like a 275 but shorter)
335/30-18

Slicks:
265/645-18
320/650-18

Also, regarding R7s, what starting cold pressure do you use and what hot pressures do you set? On NT01s I start 25 cold and bleed down to 32 front / 33 rear hot.

The R7 is a great tire but won't provide the grip of a slick, however,it lasts much much longer which is a trade I'm happy to make.
I'm running 245F 315R on a 2010 GT3 I start 26 lbs F 24 lbs R.
I' m sure others will have different set ups they love but I like as soft a tire as possible and indeed tried 24F 22R but found the sidewalls couldn't take it.

Thanks for the input. I called Hoosier directly and talked with one of their tire engineers. Based on my use, he suggested that the slick is a better choice over the R7. According to him, the slicks have a stronger sidewall construction and can withstand more heat. As a result, the recommended hot pressure for the slicks is about 34psi vs. 38 for the R7s. What surprised me is the fact that he told me the slicks (100s) will have more grip over the R7 while also delivering more heat cycles thus lasting longer. If that's actually the case then that would likely offset the 400 difference in price per set. Still would like to see more input on pressures from some fast guys running the above mentioned sizes.

lasting longer i amnot sure
but in a long session, say by 25min into it, slick is still consistent and R7 starts to slide.
it's the consistency from T=0 to T=60+ that makes me love slicks
