Yes, that's right, you have to wash out the filter before you install it! Actually you have to install it with no filter oil at all.

One day before christmas, some more parts just arrived

LITEBLOX superlight Carbon Fiber Lithium Battery, inclusive Carbon Fiber bracket for 997 models and inclusive a matching battery charger. The battery is around 2 kilogram, the stock battery is 22 kilogram, so a total of 20 kilogram weight saving

Isnt the voltage drop module required by lite blox to run this battery on the 997?

for the use in vehicles with alternators providing >14,6V, our voltage-drop module is to be used (ex. Porsche 996 / 997 models)

When I placed the order, the manufacturer said it is not a voltage-drop module necessary, only for the very early 997 models it is recommended, because they have a different alternator. Mine is a 2008 model.

Some more parts just arrived today :-)

- Numeric shift unit, f....n awesome, just a piece of art
- Function First tranny mount insert
- Function First classic shift **** kit (I ordered the long AND the short shaft, so I can swap)

Still waiting for the RSS motor mounts.

Carbon copy of my first love, incl red tail lights. Just missing an AM antenna.

Car is long since gone but hooked ever since.

Wondering why the Numeric shifter switch. GT3 is already short shift, but you can set it in the longest setting.
