Anyone put an aftermarket short shift kit in their RS? What kind and what do you think of it?

Looking at replacing the stock, plastic assembly. Thanks in advance for the replys

Just use the function first inserts to replace the plastic parts.

If you want more than that the only option is a CAE shifter. Anything else is pointless.

CAE is amazing! Transforms an already brilliant car.

Does the Numeric not fit the RS? I've tried the standard, SSK and Numeric and the Numeric was like jewelry compared the plastic of the standard and SSK.

Numeric is money shift jewelry. CAE or don't bother.

My my how times change.
I remember two years ago when myself and just a couple other members were the only ones saying that CAE shifter was the only real deal.

You only have to try the CAE once to be convinced.
Will probably turn my 993 into 2wd so I can fit a CAE shifter in that car as well.

I only buy cars that can use a CAE shifter...

Question for people who have tried function first or CAE shifter and a GT4 - does either solution make a 7.2 GT3 shift as slick as a GT4 shift?

The GT4's gearbox has all sorts of rev matching and shift assists e-nannies at work in it. No true manual will ever feel this way.

Can't compare a CAE shifter to a GT4. The gt4 has a nice shifter feel. Very rubbery compared to the CAE. The CAE has about half as long throws, the "****" is at a perfect hight.

Darn Now we do a group buy. I just bought one for my GT3 transmission Super Beetle. Looked for a used one forever. I have had the VW version for years. They are great and so nice to look at too!
