Default No-Drill Front License Plate Mount for 997 GT3 - NOT a tow hook mount

Some of you may recognize our name from the Ferrari world and to those unfamiliar, Carbonio is a design and engineering company with specialties in carbon fiber manufacturing but also product design. Recently we have turned our attention to developing a line of front license plate brackets that can be installed and removed quickly without the need to drill any holes. What makes our mounts different is that they DO NOT use the horribly ugly offset tow hook but rather are designed to mount the plate in the middle of the car which maintains a nice balanced look while remaining legal.

In addition to having a great OEM like look we have come up with a modular design that allows you to custom fit your plate in both reach and angle. The mount fixes via a clever patent-pending spring assembly that allows you to install or remove your plate in seconds without any tools and without leaving any trace of the mount having been there.

What makes our front license plate mount different?

- Mount comes pre-assembled and ready to install
- Fits number plates from all over the world and adheres to national and international standards making it a totally global solution
- High speed tested to ensure that stability and cooling is not affected
- Adjustable in reach and angle to allow for a fully personalized install
- Great for car shows or track days; quick removal maintains privacy
- Excellent roadside 'fix' you can keep in the trunk if you choose to drive plate free. Most police are ok with this kind of roadside repair.
- Bumper removal is NOT necessary

The assembly is made of CNC cut and powder coated metal, hand assembled, with all contact surfaces covered in either soft rubber or plastic.
Our mounts are made by enthusiasts in small numbers for enthusiasts so we put a lot of pride in making a part that is OEM nice in fit and finish.

Do you need to remove the bumper to place a fixed mount behind the bug screen??? Even after looking at the .15 second install video, I do not see all the mounting brackets only a license plate with some kind of slide mount that goes into the screen. Can you post the installation instructions please?

Removal of the front bumper is not necessary and we don't think that would be a very good solution.
The bracket affixes to the wire mesh of the front grille using a clever spring mount that grabs onto the mesh and holds the plate securely in place.
The assembly is made of CNC cut and powder coated metal, hand assembled, with all contact surfaces covered in either soft rubber or plastic.

The grille is quite sturdy and actually has two vertical strengtheners there from factory that end up just outside of each of the mounts so there is nowhere really for the grille to move or displace.

You can find our installation instructions here

We've had this question asked by a few customers recently...

Q: "Does your front license plate mount will interfere with the front park sensors."

A: NO. Unlike tow-hook style license plate mounts which sit high on the bumper, our front license plate mount sits much lower on the front of the vehicle and does not interfere with the front park sensors.

Looks like a quick on and off solution which is handy, but is there also a way to secure the plate to the car when unattended?

Is it is the same mount for both 997 GT3 and the GT4 or is there any difference?

At present there is no way to override the quick on and off system. We have not found theft to ever be a problem as it would take someone really knowledgeable about the product AND motivated to steal from you to cause an issue. Realistically you are more likely to have your emblems preyed off with a flat head screwdriver than have your plate stolen.

To answer the second question YES the GT4 and GT3 mounts are the same and can be used interchangeably.

We have license plate mounts available for the 997 GT3. These are really catching on for a number of reasons:

- Mount comes pre-assembled and ready to install
- Fits number plates from all over the world and adheres to national and international standards making it a totally global solution
- High speed tested to ensure that stability and cooling is not affected
- Adjustable in reach and angle to allow for a fully personalized install
- Great for car shows or track days; quick removal maintains privacy
- Excellent roadside 'fix' you can keep in the trunk if you choose to drive plate free. Most police are ok with this kind of roadside repair.
- Bumper removal is NOT necessary

Group buys are so Honda Civic and we don't want our customers to have to put in work and waiting for a few bucks off. We will however extend special pricing to registered Rennlist members. Just shoot us off a PM and we will send you a discount code for our website. That way you get instant savings and don't have to wait around for a group buy to come together.

We just had a Porsche customer contact us to let us know he avoided a ticket after grabbing our plate mount from his trunk and putting it on to please the officer. There are those that will never run a front plate and that's fine, but as once said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

With spring right around the corner cars are coming out of storage and need to be road ready. Time to get a plate bracket to stay road legal

just my opinion but i think it looks better with tow hook mount. how low it mounts makes me concerned I'll scrape it off coming out of every driveway or speedbump. correct me if i'm wrong but the plate would hang lower than the front lip if using a USA plate size.
