Get the 997.1 and avoid the center lock BS. I wouldn't factor investment potential. Use it. And track it.

the 997.2 sounds like a good deal especially if it's optioned out with buckets. It's going to be a better car all around.

I disagree with those that say that if you're going to DD getting a GT car is a waste. Everyone's commute and tolerance for comfort is different.

If its not going to a track buy a 997.1 Turbo. Its a much better street car.

Your friends who get it will understand. Your friends who don't get it won't know the difference.

Are those prices in pounds? I haven't seen any cars worth buying for prices like that. Especially the mk2 cars. Makes me wonder why. Be careful.

I bought a MK1 for these reasons.

1. Cheaper than MK2.
2. I like the look of the front and rear bumper better, also I liek teh MK1 wing better.
3. No center lock BS to deal with, easier to get aftermarket wheels, easier to swap them out, no special tools/processes, etc.
4. No engine harmonics (i.e. variocam bolts, etc) BS to deal with.

Default got rev report

would this matter to any of you? is this a show stopper buying a 2010 gt3 for 102k? Besides this report everything else checks out.

number of ignitions range 1 = 30
operating hours 328

the rest of the report is all zeros in ranges 2 through 6

That's a great report. If the PPI is clean, I'd go for it. I would request scrutiny of the frame/subframe/body panels for signs of accident repair (unreported)

I paid more than that for my slightly higher mileage .2 GT3

Would you be able to pass on the info for the .1 if you decide not to go with it?

Some folks suggest buying a C4S or Turbo because you're not tracking it. I disagree. You can enjoy this car for what it is regardless of whether you track it. Just just appreciate it even more if you do track it.

Also, I know you're conscious of resale and the C4S or Turbo will not hold their value like the GT3.

+997. I haven't tracked mine. But the car is an absolute blast to drive on back roads.

Even driven back to back with a GT4...

Forum facts:

997.1 GT3 owners will sing the praises of the .1

997.2 GT3 owners will sing the praises of the .2

On the 991 GT3 forum, the 991 GT3 owners will sing the praises of the 991 GT3

Moral: Unless you are a collector who desires an objet d'art and/or for (possible) future investment - If you intend to actually drive the GT3, buy the best one available that makes you feel warm and fuzzy that your budget allows.

For price I would get the 997.1 GT3. Thats a great deal at $84K for 15K miles. Seems too low, but whatever. I drove both. Both great cars and deals. I liked the .1 for rawness and revs. For a ~20K difference if the .1 was solid would jump on that one.

Lease post up those cars if you don't take them - they are cheap if clean

I've had both .1 and .2 - both great

You will end up with RS if you are a GT3 person just FYI
