Default Can anyone help diagnose a leak.

I just realized the that I've got a leak, which i originally thought was the rear main again. Lifted the car and realized that the leak is coming from a horizontal pipe that spans left to right. It's coming from where, in the diagram, #1 meets #18, #17, #16.

Any assistance is appreciated. Looks to be coolant related. Wondering if it's an easy fix or something that should be sent to the shop.

Thanks in Advance

it's leaking from the passenger side, that black round rubber ring at the end of the pipe that runs from left to right, in front of the center muffler.

Has your engine been out? That's the water distribution jacket and pump housing.

Leaking there is a visit to the shop.

What color is the fluid? I had a leak from power steering return line where it meets the reservoir at the top of the engine. And it looked like it was leaking from the exact same place you're pointing.

Excellent point, I've seen this also.

The downside of the PS fluid is it can cause certain seals to swell, so if it's been sitting in that spot where the water jacket meets the block it can cause a leak there

i had that issue after engine out for coolant pipe fix. took awhile to figure out since the PS fluid drips were hard to trace back.

Thanks for all the replies. I've got a few days off this week so I'm going to lift the car and inspect further before deciding if I'm going to do the fix or send it in.

Oh, BTW, that engine shot is not my car. i pulled it from the web to illustrate where my leak was coming from. My engine looks pretty much the same thought, except for the headers. Those, in the pic, look like the've never been run.

I'll keep you guys posted and thanks once again for the insight.
