Default Blackstone Oil Analysis

Had my oil changed today and asked the dealer to fill a sample bottle for analysis. The service manager tells me that he thinks they will come back and say there is too much metal in the oil and that they always do for Porsche's.

Has anybody here had this done and what was your experience with Blackstone?

Nope. Metals are not (yet?) high on my samples.

Good data. Especially on wear metals and oil condition/breakdown.

Your service manager sounds like an ***. Find another one. I've been doing Blackstone UOA's for many years. My Porsches have always been healthy. His statements are unfounded, and frankly ridiculous.

Tell me more about your recent sample:

Mileage on the car?
Mileage on the oil?
Driving habits (weekend toy, daily driver, short commutes)?
What oil brand?
What viscosity?

Good experience as they are fast with their report. Nice to see the trends over time and will be useful to have if I ever decide to sell the car..

Oil analysis are great for other things too, your base stock viscosity, additive package condition, and coolant presence too
I've been using Oil Labs for over a decade and this is what you get. As subsequent oil analysis on the same engine are performed they add two lines of data so you have the history at a glance!

Service Manager = HS / College Grad
Blackstone = Engineer with years of experience analyzing different oils from thousands of different vehicles

I think I'd know who to trust
